Mutiara Crest

September 4th :
viewed Mutiara crest for the first time. Very impressed. the Elevator open inside the unit itself! Guest lavatory is in the hall. Common bathroom is attached to the 2 common rooms. Condition is almost brand new. Agent called for 3K rent unfurnished (except for washing machine & Fridge)

Alternative unit at Jervois Jade agreed to go down to 2.5K fully furnished. I'm pretty much inclined, but roommate prefer Mutiara & didn't mind paying slightly more.

September 6th :
Roommate's contract was yet to be finalized. Everything was hanging in the air. I was busy with the interviews preparation.

September 10th :
Roommate got the deal! started talking to Agent on requirements. Agent was reluctant but finally agreed to try. (suspected he was just playing game with us!)

September 11th :
Signed letter of intent for Mutiara unit, offerred at 2.8K fully furnished, diplomatic clause to be effective after 6 months.
Owner agreed. Roommate made deposit payment on the next day.

September 15th :
Agent sent contract draft for proof reading. Owner was out of town.

September 22th :
Owner just returned, planned to get contract signed by Sep 24. But furnitures are not in, hence, handover of the key to be done only on Sep 25 (the same day signature park unit's lease was up!)

Les Choristes - the review

This film will touch your heart with a feeling -so gentle like a touch of feather, so warm like a soothing summer breeze and so innocently sweet like vanilla ice cream..
Could i say the plot somehow reminded me of my fair lady? or Cinderella? A kind soul put all his best effort to transfer apparent-hopeless character into something phenomenal. Only Les Choristes version is pure of virtue and selfless dedication without any magical helps.
The most commendable points for this films could be none other than the soundtracks and the casting. After first view I went straight to dig the r ecord stores for soundtracks (it was not available in Singapore back then and I finally got hold of a copy after my second viewing and it was only when my friend went to Hongkong and found the CD there). The music is heavenly and the vocal is angelic.
The casting was impressive to the point that I didn't feel they were acting at all, especially the kids - they appeared so real, full of genuine feelings - frustrations, appreciations and gratitudes as the story moves on. This cast of mostly young actors are virtually unknown to me (and I believe the same to most of non-french population) and they had earned themselves an extraordinary impression to the world with the pureness of their acting talent.
Watch it and you will love it.

Spellbound-the review

It's a story of 8 talented American kids who took part in US national spelling competition, the film begins with a series of short individual stories to introduce each kid to the audience. What captured me most was how determined and hardworking these kids, as well as their families and supporters, are.

An interesting point is that many of these English spelling championship contenders are just 2nd generation immigrants, and they truly appreciate the opportunity USA has given to them. Now&then you will get to hear comments like "you don't get a second chance in India like what you get in America" or "Nobody fails in America, if you work hard - you will definitely get it". This is quite a new taste of American society for people who have only seen a more bitter side of Irish immigrants from 'In America" or those negative aspects projected by Michael Moore's documentary such as Bowling for Columbine or Fahrenheit 9/11 (in case you haven't known, I'm one of them)

The father of a boy beautifully summarized the whole endeavour that it didn’t matter whether his son came in the first place, second place, top 5 or top 10..or even dropped out in the first round. It's the experience of having wanting something so passionately and trying so hard to get it that will get him through more difficult times in life. His son didn't win, but I'm sure he did gain an experience of his lifetime.

Watching this films raised a few questions inside my head, Am I taking given opportunities for granted? Have I done my best pursuing my goals? And most importantly, Do I share precious moments in my life with people who really matter to me? A real food for thought I need to digest.

Highly recommend this show to everyone, regardless of age & races. You will love it! Here's the official site : http://www.spellboundmovie.com/index.php
