Parking battle

The problem about driving in Bangkok is not just traffic jam. Finding parking space is equally troublesome. You may find roadside sharks on public streets who will rob you under a disguise of 'parking fee'.

Last Wednesday I went to the university for my registration. We are not allowed to bring the car into the university yet. And any parking space nearby was fully occupied, I guess it's because the 'get Thaksin out' campaign lobbied on the university's premise and people were flowing there from everywhere to sign the petition.

So at the end, I had to go all the way to the department store across the river (around 12 km from the university) for parking, then took bus to the pier opposite the university to take the boat crossing the river back to the university. What a pain! Reverse the process after I finished my registration.

When I got back to the department store where I parked (Central Pinklao), I had a couple of hours to kill before I could go pick my sis up from her workplace ( a hospital on Silom road, how fun!) so I picked a ticket for Brokeback mountain which happened to have an immediate showtime with plenty of seats available.

The movie was so Ang Lee-like, beautiful cameramancraft, heart-wrenching tune and dramatic scenery backgrounds. The actors are great and their actings are convincing *grin* you know what i mean* but the story line's pretty dragging and dull. Many violence were portraited. And i don't really get Annis's daughter character. What was she there for? Any idea?

hello! this is Jerry, I have been reading your blog for a while, and I have this question for you:

Do you know anyone in Thailand who blogs about the situation (political as well as social) of Thailand in English Language?

Would be glad if you can drop me a message at my blog.

:)

Thank you in advance.
